It is desirable to lift the plants with ball of earth intact while the deciduous plants can be lifted bare rooted during dormant condition .Light irrigation should be given,if required before lifting the seedlings. The type of packing depends on the size of stock and type of plant.the transplants lifted bare rooted are packing with their roots in moist and wrapped with moist paper. Storage-Low temperature in association with high humidity (85-90%) it the atmosphere of storage reduces the respiration and transpiration rates. The storehouse should be well ventilated to drive out the carbon-dioxide and heat of respiration.
