Fertilizers application on seedbed
Management of young nursery plants 


a. Irrigation- The young tender seedling are exactly in their water requirements. Over watering is as harmful as under watering. Light irrigation should be given at an interval of 7 to 10 days during summer and 15 days in winter.


 b. Nutrition- Proper nutrition has profound influence on the growth of nursery plants.A light and frequent dose of nitrogenous fertilizer @ 25 kg per hectare may be applied to obtain quick growth of seedling.

Weed controling
c.Weed control- Weed posses severe threat to the young seedlings in the nursery bed .Weed being wild in nature grow vigorously and get established earlier than the crop plant. The nursery bed should be kept-free from weeds by shallow hoeing and it also helps in better aeration of the soil.

 d. Plant protection-  * Protection against adverse climatic condition- seedling can protected from scorching sun by providing some shade during daytime.  * Protection against pests and diseases-The reputation of a nursery depends on the supply genuine, health and disease free plants. Necessary measures are needed to be taken to control the pest and disease infestation.
